KUSCO is pleased to announce its support for the 2025 US-Korea Synthetic Biology Conference, which was held at Urbana-Champaign, Il on September 16-17. Its purpose was to accelerate U.S.–Korean collaboration in synthetic biology, especially in AI-driven biofoundries, metabolic engineering, and biomanufacturing. Over two days, the meeting brought together researchers from academia, government, and industry in both countries, structured around keynote lectures, domain-focused technical sessions, group discussions, poster presentations, and a final panel to explore global R&D trends. There were about 60 participants. The conference reinforced shared strategic priorities in AI-enabled synthetic biology and biomanufacturing infrastructure. It fostered cross-border networking and identified promising topics for joint U.S.–Korea funding and development, such as autonomous design cycles, translational platforms, and sustainable production pathways.
