KUSCO is pleased to announce our support for 2013 NYKB Annual Conference (President: Min Suk Kang, PhD) held on March 30th. This event was sponsored by Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA), Korea-US Science Cooperation Center (KUSCO), KHIDI USA, KASBP, iNtRON Biotechnology, Marcrogen, CJ Pharma, etc. Prof. Dennis Choi (Stony Brook University), Prof. Ann-Hwee Lee (Weill Cornell Medical College), Prof. In-Hyun Park (Yale School of Medicine), Dr. Kyungjae Myung (National Institutes of Health), and Dr. Chongwoo Yu (U.S.Food and Drug Administration (FDA)) were invited to give talks under various field of science. Specially, Prof. Dennis Choi presented “Preparing for Brain Activity Mapping” which is BRAIN Initiative unveiled by President Obama recently. The BRAIN Initiative which is short for Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies and new research effort to understanding of the way to treat, prevent and cure brain disorders. In this year, we awarded fellowship to one of our graduate student member, JeeHae Han (Albert Einstein School of Medicine), with our sponsor iNtRON Biotechology. Moreover, students and postdocs who were presenting posters had also chances giving 3-5 minute oral presentation of their research field and posters to the audience. Most attendees moved to the poster session and enjoyed a time of networking. We have also presenting time to announce non-academia sponsors such as KHIDI USA, KASBP, iNtRON Biotechnology and Macrogen. Overall more than 120 academic and non academic members attended this conference and enjoyed their networking with scientific relations.
