New York Korean Biologists (NYKB) is an organization of Korean biologists of 8 institutes or universities like Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Columbia University, Cornell University, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York University and Rockefeller University. The Korean biologists of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory joined NYKB very recently. We hold the NYKB annual conference every spring and this is the biggest event of NYKB activities.

This year, we held the 3rd NYKB annual conference on March 19 at Columbia University. 7 speakers presented their studies and 14 presented their posters. The registration started 9 am, the conference started 9:30 am and all lectures were finished at 5 pm. After all the lectures, we had a banquet until 8 pm and most of the attendees had a great time and enjoyed the banquet.

This year, more than 100 people, from not only New York area but also other places like Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, attended and actively participated in the conference as poster presenters and they could do in-depth discussion and build strong relationship with our NYKB members.

As time goes on, many people were interested in and willing to take an active part of the conference. We could hold our 3rd NYKB conference very successfully with the help of many members and supporters. Above all things, the unsparing supports from KSEA and KUSCO were greatly helpful for the success of our conference.

We are sure that our annual conference every year will give more opportunities to all NYKB members for personal and academic exchanges with other members. The future NYKB conference will improve these relationships and encourage all NYKB members to achieve a great academic career.
