Dr. Eun Kyu Lee, Director, Directorate for Basic Research in Science and Engineering of National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) visited the US from November 4th to 6th. The purpose of this visit was to participate in meetings with directors from the National Science of Foundation (NSF) and the National Institute of Health (NIH).

Regarding Dr. Eun Kyu Lee’s visit to NSF, there were two meetings.
The First meeting was on NRF-NSF Advanced Manufacturing workshop 2013 with Dr. Hazelrigg, Program Director, International Collaboration in Chemistry (ICC), Division of Chemistry.

The Second meeting was on International Cooperation in Chemistry with Dr. Zeev Rosenzweig, Program Director, ICC and Dr. James Lisy, Program Director, Chemical Structure, Dynamics & Mechanisms (CSDM), Division of Chemistry.

Dr. Eun Kyu Lee’s visit to NIH was to discuss soliciting plans for potential NCI –NRF collaborations with directors as follows:

  • Dr. Joseph Tomaszewski, acting Director for the DCTD Preclinical Research
  • Dr. Barbara Mroczkowski, special Assistant to the DCTD Director
  • Dr. Paula Jacobs, Associate Director for the Cancer Imaging Program
  • Dr. Barbara Conley, Associate Director for the Cancer Diagnosis Program
  • Dr. Piotr Grodzinsk, Director for the NCI Office of Cancer Nanotechnology Research

Dr. EunKyu Lee also made a visit to KUSCO on November 5th.
