2012 KASBP Fall Symposium Ended with Success

With KUSCO sponsoring, 2012 KASBP (Korean American Society in Biotech and Pharmaceuticals) Fall Symposium was held on October 12-13, 2012 in Somerset, New Jersey.  The Symposium has been growing last several years and it was no exception this year. It was well attended by more than 170 professionals working in Korean and US pharmaceutical and health care related industries and discussed the present and future of Korean and US life science and pharmaceutical industries.
The speakers included Prof. Dennis Choi from SUNY Stony Brook University receiving KASBP award, Dr. Eun Churl HUH from Green Cross Korea, Dr. Sang Ho LEE from Daewoong Pharmaceuticals, Inc., both providing support, Dr. Hyun Jin SHIN from Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Doo Man OH from Valeant Pharmaceuticals, Jung Hoon LEE of Merck, Dr. Young Choon JUNG from Vertex, Dr. Young Sun KIM of VaxInnate, and Attorney Lindsay Adams from Lucas & Mercanti Law Firm. The speakers shared their expertise in various fields to look into the trends of drug discovery and development in US and also considering the potential in Korea.  In addition, several FDA reviewers were invited to provide some guidance in the FDA review procedure and valuable discussions.
The topics discussed in the symposium include Biomarker in Autism, Design of Pre-Clinical studies for efficient Clinical studies, CMC process, Drug Discovery using Modeling and Simulation, Vaccine Manufacturing Process, Strategy for Generic Drug Development, Studies for Biosimilar, Utilizing Clinical Pharmacology in Drug Discovery and Development, and Status of US and Korean Pharmaceutical Industries Clinical Studies.  It was estimated that the symposium successfully delivered the very important issues for the Korean pharmaceutical companies.
