KUSCO is pleased to announce the KUSCO successfully organized “The 3rd Washington Science and Technology Forum” on July, 20 at 3:00 pm at KUSCO Conference room. KUSCO was honored to invite Dr. Kathie L. Olsen, former Deputy Director, National Science Foundation (NSF) for its third forum.
Its theme was “Innovation in Science & Technology: A Global ‘Korean’ Perspective”, exploring the philosophy and drivers behind science and technology policy. The forum provided examples from the U.S. experience of priority setting for national research budgets across the federal research agencies, of the importance of interdisciplinary research and the role of our universities as regional economic engines.  A focus of the forum also was placed on globalization of science and engineering especially with respect to the Korean Science and Technology enterprise.

There were more than 50 participants including S&T related scholars, government officials, WEST participants, all of whom participated actively in the Q&A session.

KUSCO plans to hold more forums in 2012, inviting distinguished speakers from various fields.
